true strength

In quietness and in trust shall be your strength.  Isaiah 30:15

(This was a picture I took on Sunday from our car on the way back from my brother’s wedding in VA & family vacation in NC.  Isn’t God’s “art” far more exquisite than the best of man’s?!)

There is a strength that only comes to those who rest quietly in the sovereign God – who trust him with their whole heart and life.  It is strength that can’t be fabricated, that can only reside in a child of God.  It can carry you through the most trying circumstances, ones that seem hopeless to surmount to the rest of the world.

Are you in those circumstances now?  Take heart!  Rest.  Trust.   These are circumstances ripe for God to get all the glory! Remember the lives of David & Joseph, how difficult and trying they were – even hopeless.  Both men feared for their lives, were cast down, thought better dead by those around them.  But God saw what no one else did, what Joseph and David couldn’t have even known at the time. He was getting ready to do something amazing!

Resting and trusting in God alone and not in the circumstances that surround our lives is one of the biggest things that separates us from the watching world and showcases God’s glory, regardless of how things unfold.  It is where true strength lies.
